New Client
For most new clients, we offer flat-fee estate planning services: $2,750 for a single person and $3,750 for a couple for a basic Will-based plan, which includes two meetings and preparation of key documents such as Wills, Financial and Health Care Powers of Attorney, Health Care Directives, Anatomical Gift Statements, customized beneficiary designations, and guidance on asset titling. Couples also receive a Community Property Agreement if appropriate.
For those needing a Revocable Trust-based plan, the flat fee is $3,750 for singles and $4,750 for couples, reflecting the additional complexity and documents; this fee does not cover costs associated with transferring real estate or other assets into the trust.
All clients receive an estate planning binder with printed and electronic copies of their documents.
If your needs go beyond the scope of the flat fee—such as extra meetings, substantial revisions, or additional documents—we will inform you beforehand and bill hourly at rates of $650 per hour for Doug and $450 per hour for Aaron (subject to annual adjustments).
Estate Update
If it has been several years since your estate plan was last reviewed, it may be time for an update, as changes in your personal circumstances, Washington Law, or estate planning strategies can impact the effectiveness of your current documents.
During your appointment, your attorney will assess whether a full update is recommended based on the timing of your last review and any relevant legal developments. A comprehensive update typically involves two meetings—an initial meeting to review your plan and discuss goals, followed by a signing meeting to finalize and execute your updated documents—with draft copies provided for your review beforehand.
We offer a flat fee of $2,750 for individuals and $3,750 for couples, which includes updated Wills, Financial and Healthcare Powers of Attorney, Healthcare Directives, Anatomical Gift Statements, Disposition of Remains Statements, and coordinated beneficiary designations.
If additional documents or more complex trust provisions are required, your attorney will discuss any extra fees in advance. Should only minor updates be necessary, those changes will be billed at hourly rates of $650 for Doug Phillips and $450 for Aaron Phillips.
Upon completion, you will receive a new estate planning binder containing copies of all finalized documents.
